This is part of a larger voyage across Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Monaco, and the South of France. Each country brought its own rhythm — a harmony of contrasts. You can read each travel journal separately or link them into one extended escape.

There are moments in life that feel like poetry written by time itself. One such moment happened in the middle of endless waves of lavender, their fragrance a lullaby of joy and silence. My husband walked up to me, eyes glistening, voice soft with emotion.
“Thank you,” he said.
As a child, he grew up with a calendar page framed on his wall—a picture of lavender fields stretching into a violet infinity. His parents had loved that image so much, they tore it out and gave it a place of honour on their wall. That picture became a window into a dream.
Now, standing in that very dream, he felt the decades fold into each other. With arms wide open, he looked up to the heavens and posed like Shahrukh Khan—music playing not from speakers, but from the secret symphony within his soul. It was a dance of memory, gratitude, and childlike ecstasy.
This blog is a poem that captures that journey—through sun-drenched coasts, royal gardens, perfumed hills, and lavender fields that kissed the sky.

💜 Day 5: A Violet Pilgrimage to Lavender Lands
We started early from Nice renting a car from Budget Car Rental, heading northwest through the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
Our route:
👉 Nice → Puimoisson (via Digne-les-Bains) – ~2 hr 45 min
👉 Puimoisson → Forcalquier – ~1 hr
👉 Forcalquier → Apt – ~50 min
👉 Apt → Le Jas de Joucas (hotel) – ~30 min
This route winds through some of the most beautiful lavender country.
- Puimoisson offered vast, open fields—classic postcard scenes.
- In Forcalquier, we found smaller farms and local shops selling fresh lavender products.
- Apt added Provençal charm and a chance for a quick bite.
By late evening, we reached Le Jas de Joucas, tucked between hills and olive trees near Gordes. The air smelled of herbs and summer. We lulled to sleep by the gentle chirping of birds and the soft night breeze scented with lavender.

🏛️ Day 6: Gordes: Abbaye de Sénanque – Lavender Meets Divinity
In the morning, we visited the Abbaye de Sénanque, just 15 minutes drive from the hotel.
- The abbey, surrounded by neat rows of blooming lavender, was peaceful and almost surreal.
- The contrast of stone and bloom was unforgettable.
We lingered a while, picked up some essential oils and lavender perfumeries, then made our way back toward Nice, hearts full and phones packed with purple.

✈️ Day 7: Flying Home with Lavender in Our Luggage, and Hearts
We flew back not just with bags,
But with memories carved in gold and lilac.
The kind that live quietly on your shelf,
In scents, in sunrises,
In framed pictures that once were calendars.
Stunning stunning pics and you covered a lot of ground in 7 days. I missed Grasse – should do it next time.
Once again, beautiful photographs!!
